Report a bug or an idea from the app (desktop)

What it does
A Bug button in the footer, just left of the version number, captures the AgentsRoom window, lets you frame the area that matters, and sends it to the AgentsRoom team with one message, as a bug or as an idea. It is the same form as the phone's screenshot sheet: same fields, same words, same rules. Only the AgentsRoom window is captured, never the rest of your screen.
Where to find it
- Footer, right side, the bug icon left of the version number (
v1.x.y). Its word shows on hover. - Click it: the window is captured and shown frozen, dimmed. Drag a frame around the area you want to report: the report gets two pictures, the framed area first, then the whole window for context. Whole window (or Enter) keeps only the whole window; Cancel (or Esc) keeps nothing.
- Panels or projects opened in their own windows: the picker shows a Window to report strip with a thumbnail of each AgentsRoom window on screen. Click one to frame that window instead; This window brings back the window you clicked from.
- A small preview card then appears at the bottom right. Click again to add another capture (three pictures at most, the oldest go first).
- Click the preview card to open the form. The cross on the card throws the captures away.
- Help bubble (bottom right), Bug or idea tile: same capture, the form opens directly.
- The form's bottom left link Public backlog opens AgentsRoom's public board, to read or upvote what others reported.
How to use it
- Click Bug in the footer, then the preview card. Or press the shortcut (Cmd+Shift+B on macOS, Ctrl+Shift+B on Windows and Linux): it captures the window, lets you frame the area the same way, and opens the form directly, even above an open dialog.
- Choose Bug or Idea.
- Write your message in the single field, like in an agent's composer: several lines are fine, and Dictate (bottom right of the field) adds what you say at the end. The first sentence becomes the ticket title (5 characters at least), shown under the field; the rest becomes the description.
- Add pictures from the bottom left of the field: Capture an area of the screen (the same native tool as the composer), Capture the AgentsRoom window, Add an image, or paste / drop an image on the field. The form hides itself during a capture. Three pictures at most per report.
- Each picture has two buttons: Annotate opens the drawing canvas (circle, arrow, text, freehand) over the picture, Remove takes it out of the report.
- Send report (or Cmd/Ctrl+Enter) files a ticket on AgentsRoom's own public board under your account email. You follow the answer in Your feedback. If a similar ticket exists, the form shows it first ("Maybe already reported") and lets you open it or send anyway.
Drafts: keep a report for later
Not ready to send? Save as draft (next to Send report) keeps the report private instead of filing it: the message, Bug or Idea, and its screenshots are stored in your account, visible to you only. Nothing reaches the team or the public board until you send it.
- Your drafts are listed at the top of Your feedback, under Drafts, on every device signed in to your account (desktop and phone).
- Click a draft to reopen the form with everything you left in it: change the text, add or annotate screenshots, then Save draft, Send report or Delete draft. Closing a changed draft saves it automatically.
- Sending a draft files it exactly like a normal report, and the draft disappears.
- Editing the same draft on two devices at once never erases one silently: the second save says it changed elsewhere and offers Keep my version or Load the other version.
- Up to 20 open drafts. The text and screenshots of a draft are erased from the server when it is sent or deleted.
Settings
bugReportShortcut(global, Settings > Keyboard shortcuts > Report a bug): the chord that captures the window and opens the form from anywhere in the app. Empty = default (Cmd+Shift+B on macOS, Ctrl+Shift+B elsewhere). It still works when the footer button is hidden. Hold Cmd / Ctrl to see it above the button.uiElements.footer.bugReport(global, Settings > Interface elements > Footer, row Bug, visible by default): hides the button. Right-click on the footer opens the same list.
Agent tools (MCP)
report_issue files a report on the same board from an agent, without a screenshot. The footer button is the way to send one with a picture.
Providers
All providers, no difference. The feature does not touch any agent.
Mobile
The phone has the same form, reached by taking a normal screenshot of the app (see Screenshot actions (phone)): same Bug / Idea choice, same single message field (first sentence = title, dictation), an Add an image button that picks pictures from the photo library (also when the form was opened by a shake), and the screenshots can be annotated with a finger or removed before sending.
On iOS and Android, shake the phone firmly while AgentsRoom is open to go straight to the form without a screenshot. Existing screenshots in the pile are not attached or removed. Settings > Help > Report a bug > Shake to report a bug turns the gesture off; it is on by default and syncs with your account. This requires an app version with the native accelerometer module; older builds keep the screenshot entry point. The gesture is inactive in the background or while a report is already open.
Limits
- The title and the text are public on the AgentsRoom backlog, like any ticket there. The screenshots are private: only the team sees them, and they are deleted once the ticket is done.
- Each screenshot privately carries the name of the screen and of the dialogs open when it was taken (for example the agent edit window over a project), so the team, and the agent fixing the report, know which part of the app it shows without guessing from the picture. These are names from the app's own code, never your project names, titles or contents. They are sent whatever the usage data sharing setting, since they say less than the screenshot itself. A report sent without a screenshot (a shake on the phone, a failed capture) carries the screen it was opened on.
- At most 3 screenshots per report. A framed capture counts for two (the area and the whole window): a second framed capture pushes out the oldest picture. Captures are kept in memory only, never written to disk, and are gone once sent, discarded or when the app quits, unless you keep the report as a draft: the draft's screenshots are then stored privately in your account until it is sent or deleted.
- Sending needs to be signed in (the team answers by email) and an internet connection. More than ten reports in an hour from the same account are refused.
- When usage data sharing is on, a private technical snapshot is attached: app and OS versions, report time and timezone, how long the app has been open, project and running-agent counts, memory, disk space and display information when available. Only the team sees it, under Technical details in the ticket, on desktop and mobile. No project names, file paths, machine names, commands or conversation contents are included in that snapshot. Turning sharing off omits it and still lets you send the report.
Common questions
- Can I send only part of the window? Yes: after clicking Bug (or the shortcut), drag a frame around the area. The whole window is attached too, as the second picture, so the team keeps the context. Press Enter to skip the frame.
- Why is there no title field? The first sentence of your message becomes the ticket title, the rest its description. The line under the field shows the title that will be used.
- How do I report a panel opened in its own window? Click Bug as usual, then pick that window in the Window to report strip above the capture. The strip only appears when another AgentsRoom window is open and not minimized.
- Does the capture include my other windows? The Bug button, the shortcut and Capture the AgentsRoom window take only AgentsRoom windows, never other apps. Capture an area of the screen takes exactly the area you select, which can include other apps.
- Can I send a report without a screenshot? Yes: remove the captures in the form, the text alone is sent.
- Can I write a report now and finish it later? Yes: Save as draft. It stays private, in Your feedback > Drafts, on your desktop and your phone, until you send or delete it.
- Can the team see my drafts? No. A draft is visible to you only; the team sees it only once you send it.
- Where is my report afterwards? In Your feedback, with its status and the team's answers; you are also emailed when it ships.
- Does the team know which screen my screenshot shows? Yes: each capture carries the name of the screen and open dialogs, privately, under Technical details in the ticket.
- Are my technical details public? No. The ticket title and description are public, but the diagnostic snapshot stays with the team, like the screenshots.
