What it does

If you close AgentsRoom after a very short first session, the mascot opens once and asks a single question: what made you stop today. You tap an answer or write your own, it asks at most three follow-up questions, and if what you were looking for exists in the product it tells you where, in two sentences, before you close. It replaces the six-field form that people on their way out never filled in. It happens once per installation and never again, whatever you answer.

Where to find it

You do not open it: it opens itself, in the middle of the window, when you close the app at the end of a first session shorter than ten minutes. Its header reads One quick thing before you go with the subtitle A two-minute chat, no form.

The manual version is elsewhere and always available: Share your feedback ("A few quick questions to help us improve"), the classic form with your role, your experience, your preferred agent and a free-text field.

How to use it

  1. The mascot opens with Hey, before you close: what made you stop today? Tap an answer or type your own. and seven buttons: Too complicated, Not what I expected, Hard to set up, Missing something I need, Something broke, Too expensive, Just having a look.
  2. Tap one, or write in Type your answer… and Send. The next question depends on your answer, so "too complicated" is followed by "complicated at what point", never by a fixed list.
  3. Two ways out, visible the whole time: Close the app finishes the quit, Stay a bit longer cancels it and puts you back in the app. Before you have written anything the first button reads Close without answering.
  4. After four answers at most, or as soon as it knows why you stopped and what you do, the mascot thanks you and stops.

Follow-up email (since 2026-09-28): about two hours after you leave through the chat, if you were signed in and wrote at least one answer, you receive one very short email in the language of the chat. It restates your reason in one sentence and asks one more precise question (for "too complicated": at what point, on which screen, to do what). Replying to it reaches the AgentsRoom team directly. It is sent once per email address, ever, and not at all if you picked Stay a bit longer or reopened AgentsRoom since. The "thanks for your feedback" email that used to copy the whole chat right away is no longer sent for this chat.

If you tap Too complicated, or the assistant reads that from what you wrote, AgentsRoom switches the window behind the chat to the Simple interface mode by itself (since 2026-10-01; it used to offer a Switch to Simple button). A card We made the screen simpler appears under the mascot's reply, with a miniature of the Simple layout: "Behind this window, AgentsRoom is now in Simple mode: your agents answer in a chat and everything else is folded away. Give it another try?" Try again keeps the app open (same as Stay a bit longer, which becomes the highlighted button), and Put my previous screen back restores the interface mode you had. Nothing changes when the window is already in Simple mode. The chat stays open until you pick a way out. The mascot itself never proposes an extra feature or button to someone who finds the app too complicated. Details of the modes: Interface Modes.

Settings

  • earlyExitSurveyShown (global, read-only, internal): remembers that the chat has already been shown once on this installation. There is nothing to switch on or off; closing without answering is enough to never see it again.

  • What is sent with your answers (since 2026-10-01): the interface mode you were using, the Conversation view default, and the NAMES of the settings you changed from a fresh install (never their values), plus whether the chat switched you to Simple mode and whether you put your previous screen back.

Agent tools (MCP)

None.

Providers

Not related to the agent CLIs: the mascot's answers come from the AgentsRoom side, not from your coding agent, and no agent token is spent.

Mobile

Not present. A phone app has no explicit "I am quitting" moment (the system suspends or kills it), so there is nowhere to ask the question.

Limits

  • Once per installation, and only when the session that is ending lasted less than ten minutes.
  • Closing without writing anything sends nothing at all, and no follow-up email.
  • The follow-up email needs a signed-in account: an anonymous installation has no address to write to.
  • What you write goes to the AgentsRoom team, who read every one, as the footer of the chat says. Nothing else is shared.
  • If the assistant cannot answer (an error, or too many requests that day) it says so in one sentence, keeps what you already wrote, and ends the chat.

Common questions

  • Why did AgentsRoom ask me why I was leaving? Your first session was short and you closed the window; the question is asked once per installation and never comes back.
  • I got an email two hours after closing AgentsRoom asking what blocked me. That is the one follow-up of the exit chat, written from what you answered. Reply if you want: the team reads it. You will not get a second one.
  • Can I turn it off? There is nothing to turn off: it only fires once. Click Close without answering and it is over.
  • I changed my mind, I want to keep working. Stay a bit longer cancels the quit and leaves everything as it was.
  • I clicked Switch to Simple, how do I get my full interface back? From the Interface: Simple chip in the footer, or Settings > Interface mode: choose Use Full. Nothing was removed, only folded.
  • Where do I send feedback the rest of the time? The Share your feedback form, or the Support thread of the chat panel, which reaches the same people (see Feedback & Support Chat).
  • Feedback & Support Chat: the permanent way to reach the team and follow what you reported.
  • AgentsRoom Help: the in-app assistant that answers product questions, and the source the mascot draws on when it points you at a feature.
  • In-App Guide: the guided tour a new user gets on the way in, where this one sits on the way out.
  • Interface Modes: the Simple mode the chat offers to someone who found the app too complicated.
