What it does

One full-screen view of the whole account: every project you have open and every agent inside it, on one board with a column per state, most urgent first: Needs you, To review, Working, Available (and Done, the agents you parked, on demand). These are the same states and the same words as a project's agent list. It is not a dashboard to read but a place to answer: one composer at the bottom, type @ to pick an agent, write, send, and the message lands in that agent's terminal in its own project, exactly as if you had gone to its tab. Filters narrow the board by project (a row of project tiles), role, CLI and machine, plus a search. A line of stat pills (agents per state, provider quota rings, the day's work, cost, backlog, machines) sits on top; Customize hides any of them and Details unfolds the full KPI tiles and Today band, and an Anomalies button asks a chief-of-staff agent to report what the screen itself cannot show. Until 2026-10 the screen was a feed of events with a "who is here" roster; the board replaced both.

Where to find it

  • Sidebar: the Open space button ("Every project's agents in one screen"). Shortcut Cmd+Shift+O; Escape or Close leaves it. The button also says how many agents are waiting for you.
  • In a project, the Open space of this project button (grid icon) in the agents toolbar opens the same board already filtered on that project. A Project: chip says so; its cross widens the board to the whole account.
  • Clicking a project tile leaves the Open space and enters that project.
  • The Beta badge in the header opens AgentsRoom's public backlog pre-filtered on Open space, to report a bug or an idea.

How to use it

  1. Press Cmd+Shift+O. The agent that has been waiting longest is preselected; the right column shows its last answer so you can decide without opening a console. Click any card to select it.
  2. Type your reply in the composer. Without a mention it goes to the selected agent (shown as To above the field). Type @ and pick another agent to change the recipient; mention several and each receives the same message with a broadcast header. The Everyone megaphone toggles an @everyone mention (it does not send).
  3. Press Enter. The outcome shows as Delivered, Queued (agent mid-turn or CLI not started yet) or Not delivered.
  4. Each card carries its column's verb: Reply on a waiting agent (targets the composer), Review or Open console on the others; a double-click opens the console too. A card shows the agent, its project (when the board spans several), its short role and machine, how long it has been in that state, its last message, and the fate of your last message to it (Message sent, Message queued, Message not delivered). Opening a console moves that agent out of To review into Available; a right-click also offers Mark as seen without opening it.
  5. Filter the board: the row of project tiles at the start of the filter bar picks a project (the first tile is All projects; a red dot marks a project where someone waits); the bar also searches agents and tasks and filters by Role, CLI and Machine (only when agents run on several machines). Done adds the column of parked agents. Clear filters resets everything. Filters are forgotten when the screen closes. While the Open space is open the sidebar shows as its compact rail; expand it by hand if you want it back, it returns as you left it when you close the screen.
  6. Hover a card for its actions (Open console, Pin, the ⋯ menu); only Reply stays visible, on a waiting agent. Right-click a card and choose Pin to keep it at the top of its column. It keeps its real status: pinning changes the order, never the truth. Unpin puts it back. Twelve pins at most; past that the oldest one drops rather than the click being refused. Pins and the layout (step 9) are what this screen remembers across restarts.
  7. Zone concierges are no longer listed on this screen (2026-10-01); they stay one click away from the hover button of their folder in the sidebar.
  8. Click Anomalies: the first time, a Scan for anomalies dialog explains what it costs; then a chief-of-staff agent is created once in one of your projects, reads the account (live agents, backlog, quota) and its report appears as a card above the board.
  9. Layout: Details, at the end of the stat pills, unfolds the KPI tiles and the Today band (Hide the indicators folds them back, the default since 2026-10); Customize picks which pills are shown. The four columns always share the width equally, empty or not. Hide the detail panel / Show the detail panel toggles the right column, and Move the detail panel to the other side puts it left or right of the board. Drag the panel's inner edge to resize it (arrow keys work too); double-click the edge or press Enter on it to return to the default width. On a narrow window the board scrolls sideways rather than crushing its columns.

Settings

  • openSpaceChiefAgent (global, set automatically): the saved chief-of-staff agent used by the Anomalies button, as project and agent ids. Empty until the first scan; clearing it makes the next scan create a new agent.
  • openSpacePinnedAgents (global, set by the Pin action): the pinned rows, oldest first, twelve at most. Empty by default.
  • The layout (indicators, detail panel shown, side and width) is not a settings key: it is stored on this computer only, so a laptop and a large screen each keep their own.

Agent tools (MCP)

  • usage_overview: the anonymous account-wide census (consoles by status and provider, provider quotas) the chief of staff reads.
  • agents_list_live and projects_list: the live agents and projects it inspects, one project at a time.

Providers

All providers, no difference. Delivery uses the same provider-agnostic path as the agent's own composer. The chief of staff runs on the provider and model of the project's Quick Agent profile. The Usage tile shows each signed-in CLI with a quota signal, with its logo; a CLI without a usage command is listed as such, not as 0%.

Mobile

Not on the mobile companion in this beta, pinning and concierges included. The phone covers the transverse view with the Activity tab (all projects, sorted by the same attention buckets) and the Companion feed of finished and waiting agents, without the unified composer.

Limits

  • The delivery lines on the cards come from the session's event history, kept in memory only (the last 300 events); a sent message stays on its card for ten minutes, a queued or failed one until the next event. Sessions and the agent mailbox, their sources, are persisted.
  • The Today band resets at midnight UTC, not local midnight, and reads the same statistics as the project statistics panel; it disappears when project statistics are off or the day is empty.
  • One agent is one card: an agent synced from another machine borrows its host's status instead of appearing twice. The board is never split by project: a project is a filter and a mark on the card.
  • Two agents with the same name block the send until you pick one; nothing is guessed. Every card names its project when the board spans more than one, so two agents called "Fixer" are told apart at a glance.
  • The chief of staff reads only: it never messages, instructs or spawns other agents. Each scan costs one turn of your provider quota.
  • Sends are sequential; a message aimed at a console whose CLI has not started is queued, never typed into the shell.

Common questions

  • Can I reply to all my agents from one place? Yes: mention them with @, or toggle Everyone to broadcast to every open agent, then press Enter.
  • Why is my message "Queued"? The agent is mid-turn or its CLI is still starting; it is delivered when the console is ready.
  • What does Anomalies do that the screen does not? It looks for what a status list cannot show: an agent running twenty minutes without asking anything, a ticket whose agent died, a quota near its ceiling, two agents on the same work.
  • How do I get an agent out of "To review"? Open its console, or right-click it and pick Mark as seen.
  • Which project is this agent in? Its logo is on the avatar and its name on the card's second line, as soon as the board spans more than one project.
  • Can I see the Open space of one project only? Yes: the grid button in that project's agents toolbar opens the board filtered on it, or pick the project in the sidebar list of the Open space. Remove the Project: chip to see everything again.
  • Can I filter the board by role or CLI? Yes: Role, CLI and Machine above the board, plus a search.
  • Where are the agents I marked as done? Click Done in the filter bar to add their column.
  • Can I keep the three agents I care about at the top? Right-click and Pin, up to twelve. It only changes the order.
  • The indicators take too much space, can I hide them? They are one line of pills by default, and Customize hides any pill you do not want. Hide the indicators folds the full bands again after Details. The detail panel can be hidden, resized or moved to the left the same way.
  • Where did the concierges go? Off this screen since 2026-10-01: use the button on their folder in the sidebar.
  • Why is there a Beta badge? The screen is new; the badge is a shortcut to the public backlog to report what goes wrong.
