Duplicate Project

  • All plans

What it does

Creates a new project from an existing one. The project creation dialog opens already filled with the source project's name, folder, tags, color, icon, logo, mission, default agent and pinned accounts. You change what differs (usually the path and a word of the name) and click Create. The original project is not touched.

Where to find it

  • Right-click a project in the sidebar > Duplicate project.
  • The ... menu of a project in the Open a project switcher or on a project card of the projects home > Duplicate project.

How to use it

  1. Open the menu of the project to copy and pick Duplicate project.
  2. The dialog Duplicate project shows "Starting from <name>".
  3. Change the path (Browse) and the name, adjust anything else.
  4. Click Create: you land in the new project.

Agent tools (MCP)

None.

Providers

All providers.

Mobile

Not on the phone: the phone does not have the full project creation dialog.

Limits

  • Agents, links and project settings are not copied: the new project starts with its default agent, like any new project.
  • A project that runs on a remote machine (SSH) is duplicated as a local project; switch the location back to the remote machine in the dialog if needed.

Common questions

  • Can I keep the logo and only change the path? Yes. The logo is kept even when you browse to another folder.
  • Are the agents copied? No. If the new path is another checkout of the same repository, the shared agents, backlog and prompts of that repository show up anyway.
