Command Palette

What it does
One search field over everything the open project holds: skills, scheduled agents and webhook triggers, prompts, memory notes, open backlog tickets, dev commands and saved SSH / database connections, the project's agents, the repository files, the last 200 commits, then the agents of your other projects and the projects themselves. Matching is fuzzy (missing letters, accents optional), results come grouped by type with a cap per group, and Enter opens the result where it lives: an agent gets its terminal focused, a ticket opens on the board, a file or a commit opens in a preview above the palette, which stays open.
Where to find it
- Shortcut: Cmd K on macOS, Ctrl K on Windows and Linux (rebindable).
- The Search button in the title bar, top right, next to the needs-input pill.
- Works on the projects home too, with only the sources that are not tied to a project: projects, account-level skills / prompts / memory, every project's scheduled agents and agents.
How to use it
- Press Cmd K / Ctrl K and type. Results are grouped by type; use the arrow keys to move across groups, Enter to open, Escape to clear the field then close.
- Narrow to one type with a prefix or a chip:
/files,@agents,#backlog,>commands,:commits; Tab and Shift Tab cycle the chips under the field. A narrowed search lifts the per-group cap. - With an empty field the palette shows your last eight choices ("Recent").
- A file or commit result is a peek: it opens above the palette, Escape brings the palette back with your query intact. A dev command result starts the command (or refocuses its running tab).
Settings
commandPaletteShortcut(global, Settings > Command palette): the chord, DOM format such asMeta+K; empty = platform default.commandPaletteDisabledSources(global, Settings > Command palette): the sources switched off. Project override in Project settings > Command palette (scope: "project"over MCP); the project list replaces the global one wholesale.
Agent tools (MCP)
None. The palette is a keyboard surface for the user; agents reach the same content through the skills_*, prompts_*, memory_*, backlog_*, commands_*, ssh_*, db_*, agents_* and triggers_* families.
Providers
All providers, no difference. The "Agents" and "Other projects' agents" groups show the live status of every agent whatever CLI it runs on.
Mobile
Not on the mobile companion. The phone has its own search bar on the projects list and the agent picker instead.
Limits
- The shortcut fires only while the AgentsRoom window has focus; it is not a system-wide hotkey.
- Commits and the commit chip are hidden when the project folder is not a git repository.
- File search indexes what
git ls-filesreports plus a few useful ignored files (.env); a folder with no git repository lists the files it can read. - Nothing typed in the palette leaves the machine.
Common questions
- Cmd K used to focus the backlog filter, where is it? The backlog filter kept Cmd F. Cmd K now opens the palette everywhere.
- Can I search inside file contents? No, the palette matches file paths. Ask an agent, or use the file preview's own search.
- Why does a source not appear? It is switched off in Settings > Command palette (or overridden for this project), or unavailable in the room (commits without a git repository).
- Can I change the shortcut? Yes, Settings > Command palette, record a new chord; leave it empty to return to the platform default.
