The banner follows the room: a ring while agents work, the question first when one waits for you, a summary when the session ends.
A coding agent works for minutes at a time, and you rarely watch it from start to finish. You get a coffee, take a call, open another project. The same question comes back each time: is it still working, has it finished, or has it been waiting for an answer since you left?
Live agents answers it where you already look. One Live Activity covers the whole room: every agent of every project, whatever CLI runs it, on every computer signed in to your AgentsRoom account. The lock screen shows who works on what and for how long. When an agent needs you, its question moves to the front.
The app can stay closed. When an agent gets to work on your computer, the Live Activity starts by itself, follows the room by push, and leaves once everyone is quiet. The names, tasks and questions it shows are encrypted on your computer with a key only your phone holds.
Three states, the most urgent first
The banner always shows what matters most. An agent waiting for you comes before everything else.
Working
A status ring with one segment per agent, then each agent with its task and a timer that runs on its own. Progress updates arrive silently.
Waiting for you
The agent that has waited the longest comes first, with its question and up to two answer buttons. The Dynamic Island turns red, and on iPhone this is the only update that plays a sound.
Session complete
When the room goes quiet, the banner turns into a summary: how long the session lasted, how many agents took part, how many files and lines changed. It stays 20 minutes, and a tap opens the review.

Lock screen and StandBy
The full banner, readable at a glance. When the iPhone charges on its side in StandBy, the same view fills the screen.
Dynamic Island
On iPhones that have one, a compact ring and a count at the top of the screen, in red when an agent waits. Press and hold to open the full view.
Apple Watch
The activity appears in the Smart Stack of a paired Apple Watch, so a glance at your wrist tells you whether an agent needs you.
CarPlay and the Mac menu bar
With iOS 26 and macOS 26, the system relays the same activity to CarPlay and to the menu bar of your Mac.
Android
An ongoing Live agents notification with the same states and the same answer buttons. From Android 16 QPR2 it becomes a Live Update, with a chip in the status bar and a place on the lock screen.
Answer without opening the app
When the waiting agent asks something you can settle in one tap, the buttons are right on the banner.
A question with choices
Claude Code asks a single-choice question: its first two options become buttons. Tap one and the answer reaches the agent on the right computer, in the right project.
A permission request
Claude Code asks before running a command or editing a file: Allow and Deny sit on the banner. Allow lets it go ahead once, Deny cancels the request.
Face ID first
An answer types into a terminal on your computer, so iOS asks for Face ID or your passcode before it leaves the phone. On Android, the phone has to be unlocked.
Anything else: Open
A question to type out, one with several picks or several parts, or another agent CLI: the banner shows what the agent wrote, and Open takes you to its conversation in the app.
Lock screen answers work with Claude Code today. Every other agent CLI shows its state, its task and its last message, with Open to reply in the app.
What the server can read
Two places could leak your work: the server that carries the updates, and a lock screen anyone nearby can read. Here is what each one sees.
Encrypted on your computer
Agent names, tasks and questions are sealed on the computer with a key that only your phone holds. The key reaches the phone over the end-to-end encrypted link between the two, never through our server.
The server relays counts
To update the activity while the app is closed, the AgentsRoom server needs to know how many agents work, wait or are done, and since when. It cannot read the rest, and the alerts it asks the system to show are generic: never a name, never a question.
Discreet mode
One switch hides project names and questions on the lock screen and in the widgets, and removes the answer buttons. Counts and agent names stay visible.

Small, medium and large: the status ring, who is doing what, and the full room with your quota.
Lock screen
A circle, two lines or a single line above the clock, with how many agents work and how many wait for you.
Quota
Your most used quota bar and when it resets, for example "Claude 62%, resets in 1 hr, 12 min". As a small widget or a circle on the lock screen.
iOS 26
The widgets follow the tinted and clear looks of iOS 26, and a push refreshes them as soon as an agent starts waiting.
Talk to Bot control
From iOS 18, a control for Control Center, the lock screen or the Action button opens your personal assistant with the microphone already listening.
Android widget
A home screen widget with the status ring, who waits for you and who works on what. It redraws when the room changes, with no periodic refresh.
It starts and leaves on its own
Three modes, set on the phone. Nothing to switch on at the computer: it publishes the room as soon as your account is signed in.
Automatic
The default. The Live Activity starts as soon as an agent starts working and leaves once the room is quiet. "Stop following", in the Activity tab, ends it until the next session.
Manual
Nothing starts on its own. Tap "Follow on the lock screen" in the Activity tab when you want the live view.
Off
No Live Activity and no live notification. The widgets keep the last known state.
iOS can also turn Live Activities off for an app in the Settings app. The AgentsRoom settings screen tells you when that is the case.
What it needs, and where it stops
The conditions, in one place.
- The AgentsRoom desktop app running on the computer and signed in to your account, and the mobile app signed in to the same account. A computer that is off or asleep has nothing to report.
- An iPhone on iOS 17 or later. From iOS 17.2 the Live Activity can start while the app is closed; on iOS 17.0 and 17.1 it starts when you open the app.
- On Android, the live notification shows the same states and buttons, and from Android 16 QPR2 it also becomes a Live Update with a chip in the status bar. Some phones do not promote Live Updates from other apps: the ongoing notification still shows everything.
- A computer that stops reporting, asleep or offline, shows as offline 10 minutes after its last update.
- The live view follows your phone notification settings: a computer set to never notify this phone does not appear in it either.

Which agent CLIs does it work with?
The states work with every agent CLI AgentsRoom runs: Claude, Codex, GitHub Copilot CLI, Cursor and 10 other agent CLIs. They come from the session status AgentsRoom already tracks, whatever the CLI. Answering from the lock screen works with Claude Code today, for its single-choice questions and its permission requests. With the others, the banner shows the agent's last message and an Open button.
Do I need to keep the app open?
No. In Automatic mode, the Live Activity starts when an agent gets to work on your computer, even with the app closed from iOS 17.2, and every update arrives by push. What has to stay open is the AgentsRoom desktop app on the computer.
Does it work with several computers?
Yes. Every computer signed in to your AgentsRoom account adds its agents to the same Live Activity. An answer goes back to the computer the question came from, in the right project.
Can AgentsRoom read my agents' questions?
No. Names, tasks and questions are encrypted on your computer with a key that only your phone holds, handed over the end-to-end encrypted link between the two. The server relays counts and times so it can update the activity. The alerts it triggers are generic and never contain a name or a question.
Will my phone buzz every time an agent does something?
No. On iPhone, progress updates are silent. The phone plays a sound when an agent starts waiting for you. A session that starts while the app is closed lights the screen once, without a sound.
Can someone answer my agents from my lock screen?
Not without unlocking the phone. On iPhone, every answer button asks for Face ID or your passcode first, because the answer types into a terminal on your computer. On Android, the buttons require an unlocked phone. Discreet mode hides the question and removes the buttons.
Which iOS and Android versions do I need?
An iPhone on iOS 17 or later for the Live Activity and the widgets, iOS 17.2 for a start while the app is closed, iOS 18 for the assistant control, iOS 26 for widget refresh by push and for CarPlay, and iOS 26 with macOS 26 for the Mac menu bar. On Android, the live notification and the widget work on the versions the app supports, and the Live Update chip needs Android 16 QPR2.
Is it the same thing as the Dynamic Island of the desktop app?
They show the same room in two places. The Dynamic Island of the desktop app is a floating pill above your windows on macOS, Windows and Linux, for when you are at the computer. Live agents lives on the phone: the lock screen, the iPhone Dynamic Island, the Apple Watch and Android.
How is it different from the Live Activity of GitHub Mobile or Cursor?
Those apps show a Live Activity for a session of their own agent. AgentsRoom shows one for the whole room: every agent you run, whatever the CLI, on every computer of your account, with the agent that waits for you first.
Does it cost anything?
No. Live agents, the widgets and the Android live notification are free on every AgentsRoom plan.
