Continue the conversation
on your other computer.
You started with an agent at the office and want to keep going at home. Right-click the agent, pick your laptop, and it picks up the same conversation there, where it left off.
Claude Code and Codex resume their exact conversation. Every other CLI starts a new session that first reads the transcript of its console. The conversation travels end-to-end encrypted, straight to your other computer.
One agent, one conversation: it leaves the office desktop and continues on the laptop, where it left off.
Your agents, your backlog and your project memory already follow you from one computer to the next: they are synced to your account. The conversation of an agent's CLI was the exception. Claude Code, Codex and the other CLIs write it on the disk of the computer that ran them, so the agent you open on your laptop started from zero, and you explained the whole task again.
AgentsRoom now moves that conversation with the agent. Pick the other computer in the agent's menu: the console here closes, the conversation travels through an end-to-end encrypted relay room that only your two computers join, and the agent resumes there with everything it knew.
It is the same agent, not a copy: one conversation, written in one place at a time. Nothing is deleted on the computer it leaves, so if the move fails, the conversation is still there and you resume it in one click.
Three steps, one right-click
From the agent's menu on the desktop, or from its actions on your phone.
- 1
Pick the other computer
Right-click the agent and choose a computer under Continue the conversation on. Only your own computers that hold the project and are online are listed.
- 2
The conversation travels
The console closes on this computer, so the conversation is never written in two places. Its files are packed, compressed and sent end-to-end encrypted to the other computer, with a progress bar.
- 3
The agent picks up where it left off
The other computer files the conversation where its CLI looks for it and resumes the agent. Its row here now shows that it runs over there, and one click attaches to it.
Already on your laptop while the agent runs at the office? This computer, in the same menu, brings it to the computer you are using.
Which CLIs keep their exact conversation
Claude Code and Codex
Their own conversation files move: the Claude Code transcript with its sub-agent transcripts and tool outputs, the Codex rollout. On the other computer, the agent resumes the same conversation with its usual resume command, as if it had never left.
Every other CLI
A CLI that cannot reopen a conversation copied from another computer starts a new session there, and is asked to read the transcript of its console first. The app says so before the move and again in the console: it never pretends the conversation came along.
What moves, and what stays
The conversation, end-to-end encrypted
The conversation goes through a relay room created for this move, that only the two computers join. The relay sees encrypted blocks, never a word of the conversation, and nothing is stored on a server.
Your files stay where they are
Only the conversation moves. If the agent changed files, commit and push them on the computer where it worked, then pull them on the other one. The window reminds you before the move.
Nothing deleted on the way
The conversation is copied, never removed from the computer it leaves. If the connection drops, the move stops cleanly and Resume here reopens the agent on that computer in one click.
Your computers only
Only computers signed in to your account are offered. A project another account shared with you never receives your conversations.
FAQ
Can I continue a Claude Code conversation on another computer?
Yes. Right-click the agent in AgentsRoom, choose Continue the conversation on, then your other computer. Claude Code resumes the same conversation over there, with its sub-agents and tool outputs, and the console on the first computer closes. Both computers must be signed in to the same account and have the project.
Does it work with Codex and the other CLIs?
Codex resumes its exact conversation too: its rollout moves to the other computer. Every other CLI starts a new session that first reads the transcript of its console, so its console must be open when you move the agent.
Are my project files copied to the other computer?
No. Only the conversation moves. Your code stays in each computer's own checkout: commit and push the agent's changes where it worked, then pull them on the other computer.
What if the other computer is asleep or offline?
Both computers need to be online with AgentsRoom open, since the conversation goes straight from one to the other. An offline computer is not offered. If the connection drops during the move, nothing is lost: the conversation is still on the first computer.
Can I move an agent from my phone?
Yes. Open the agent's actions in the AgentsRoom mobile app and pick a computer under Continue the conversation on. Your paired desktop does the move, exactly as if you had clicked there.
Is my conversation stored on AgentsRoom's servers?
No. It goes through the AgentsRoom relay, end-to-end encrypted, in a room that only your two computers join and that disappears after the move. The relay only sees encrypted blocks and keeps nothing.
