What it does

Lets a prompt include other prompts from the same library, by copy. When you copy or send a prompt that has linked prompts, AgentsRoom appends every attached prompt after it, each under its own markdown H1 title, in the order you set. Chains are transitive (a linked prompt's own links are followed) and cycles are detected, so you can build a base "project conventions" prompt once and pull it into every task prompt instead of pasting it again.

Where to find it

  • Prompt Library > open or create a prompt > field Linked prompts ("appended on copy or send") under the body.
  • On a card: a badge shows how many linked prompts are included; hover it to see their titles. Copy +N copies the prompt with its links.

How to use it

  1. Edit a prompt and click Link a prompt; search and pick one from the same scope. Click Link another prompt to add more.
  2. Reorder with Move up / Move down; Remove link detaches one. Save.
  3. Copy or send the prompt: the linked prompts are appended in that order, each titled with an H1.

Agent tools (MCP)

  • prompts_get: returns linkedPromptIds alongside the body, so an agent can resolve the chain itself.
  • prompts_list, prompts_save, prompts_update: the library tools; a link is saved as part of the prompt.

Providers

All providers, no difference: the composed text is plain text.

Mobile

The phone's Prompt library sheet edits titles, bodies and tags; the Linked prompts field is a desktop editor feature.

Limits

  • Links stay within one scope: project prompts link project prompts, global prompts link global prompts. No cross-scope links, to keep the dependency graph predictable.
  • Deleting a prompt that others link to breaks nothing: the stale link is skipped when composing and cleaned up the next time the parent is saved.
  • Duplicating a prompt in the same scope keeps its links.

Common questions

  • Can I link a project prompt to a global one? No, intentionally; copy the global prompt into the project first.
  • What if I delete a linked prompt? It is silently skipped in the composition and removed from the parent on its next save.
  • How many prompts can I attach? As many as you need, appended in the order you set.
  • Do the links show in the autocomplete insert? The linked prompts are appended when the prompt is copied or sent; the badge on the card tells you what will come along.
