Figma to AI Agents

What it does

A workflow rather than a converter: take the Figma frame into a backlog ticket with the AgentsRoom Chrome extension (or send it straight to an agent), and let a coding agent implement it against your real components while you review the diff. The design travels as an IMAGE you attach plus your written brief inside the ticket, never as a live Figma read: the extension does not talk to Figma and does not extract CSS or design tokens, which is exactly why it does not depend on a Figma MCP server being up, authenticated or compatible with the file. An agent that picks the ticket up days later still sees exactly what was asked.

Where to find it

  • In Chrome, on a Figma file: the AgentsRoom extension icon in the toolbar.
  • On the desktop: the ticket appears on the project's Backlog board; the attached capture opens in the ticket and in the agent's context.

How to use it

  1. Install the Chrome extension and sign in (or use a project's public backlog slug, which also lets designers file tickets without an account).
  2. Screenshot the frame you want shipped, then click the extension in Chrome, attach that image and write a short brief. Pick the project; the ticket lands in its backlog with the image attached. Pointing at an element (the page's HTML, its CSS selector and the URL) works on your own running app, not inside the Figma canvas, which is a WebGL surface with no DOM to read.
  3. On the desktop, drag the ticket to In Progress (or let the backlog's default agent pick it up): an agent implements the frame in a dedicated terminal.
  4. Review the diff in the Changes panel and compare the result with the capture; a QA agent with browser access can check the running page against the same reference. Move the ticket to Done.

Optional: annotate the capture in Sketch (arrows, circles, notes) before sending, and send a screenshot of the running app back to the agent for a visual diff.

Settings

None. The extension's own settings (project preselection by URL) are described in Chrome Extension.

Agent tools (MCP)

None dedicated. The ticket and its attachment are reachable through the backlog tools (backlog_list, backlog_get, backlog_update, backlog_comment).

Providers

All providers, no difference: any agent CLI that can read an image attachment implements the ticket; the stack follows your repository's conventions.

Mobile

The ticket is visible on the phone's backlog like any other, with its image attachment. Capturing a frame requires desktop Chrome.

Limits

  • Requires the Chrome extension and a Figma file open in Chrome; there is no Figma plugin and no Figma MCP integration.
  • Fidelity depends on the capture and your brief: the agent works from an image and text, not from Figma's live node tree or design tokens.
  • Free plan backlog quotas apply to the tickets (one remote backlog, 50 tickets per month).

Common questions

  • Do I need the Figma MCP server? No. The capture is packed into the ticket; the agent reads the ticket.
  • Which frameworks? Whatever your agent can write and your repo already uses.
  • Can designers file tickets without the IDE? Yes, with the extension and either an AgentsRoom account or the project's public backlog slug.
  • Is the extension free? Yes.
