Pin an Agent to the Top of the List
- Desktop, mobile and web
- All plans
What it does
Keeps one agent in sight whatever it is doing. A pinned agent leaves its bucket and moves to a Pinned section at the very top of the room's agent list, above Needs you (called Needs input before 2026-10). It beats every automatic ordering, including the red waiting state, and holds even when the agent has no session (it never sinks into Inactive). Unpinning puts the agent back exactly where it was; its group and position are never erased.
Where to find it
- Desktop: right-click an agent row (or open its ⋯ menu) and choose Pin to top of list; the same entry reads Unpin from top of list afterwards.
- Mobile: long-press an agent row to open its actions sheet, then Pin to top of list ("Keeps this agent at the top of the room, above the agents waiting on you").
How to use it
- Right-click the agent you want to keep at hand and pick Pin to top of list.
- The Pinned section appears at the top of the column, in both the Activity and the Groups sort modes.
- To release it, right-click again and pick Unpin from top of list.
Settings
None. The pin is stored on the agent's configuration, so it survives restarts and follows the agent across the machines of your account.
Agent tools (MCP)
None.
Providers
All providers, no difference: the pin concerns the agent, not the CLI it runs on.
Mobile
Present, with the same wording and the same icon. The Pinned section heads the room list on the phone exactly as on the desktop; the change is written through the desktop, so both stay in sync.
Limits
- An agent owned by a live Agent Team run or by a conversation group stays in its box: the menu entry is available but has no visible effect until the run or conversation releases the agent.
- Do not confuse it with Pin this pane (split view): that one decides where an agent is displayed on screen, this one decides where it is listed. Two gestures, two icons.
Common questions
- I pinned an agent but it did not move. It belongs to a running team run or a conversation group; it will move once that group releases it.
- Does the pin survive a restart? Yes, and it syncs to the phone and to your other machines.
- What is the difference with pinning a pane? Pinning a pane keeps a terminal slot on screen in split view; pinning to the top of the list only changes the agent list order.
