A Meta Muse alternative
that runs on your computer
Muse is Meta's personal AI agent: it lives on a dedicated cloud machine and acts in the accounts you connect. AgentsRoom takes another route: several AI assistants on your own computer, on the AI plan you already pay for. Each one does things the other does not.
This page is about the Muse agent for the general public. Muse Code, Meta's coding CLI, is another product, and one of the agent CLIs AgentsRoom can run.
What Meta Muse is
Checked on 2 November 2026. Markets and prices move quickly: check Meta's own pages before you decide.
- Muse launched on 8 September 2026 as a personal AI agent that takes on tasks such as sending emails or booking travel.
- Each agent runs on Muse Secure VM, a dedicated cloud computer with its own browser. A second agent, Sentinel, approves what goes out to the internet, and Muse asks you before sensitive actions such as sending an email or making a purchase.
- Muse is available in the United States, Canada, Japan and Singapore. We found no date from Meta for the EU or the UK.
- There is a free tier and paid plans at $20 and $100 a month.
- Meta uses Muse requests to train its models by default. You can turn that off.

Two different approaches
With Meta Muse
- Nothing to install: an account, then the app or the website
- Works on a cloud machine, including while your computer is off
- Acts in the services you connect, and asks you first for sensitive actions
- One personal agent, on Meta's models
- Available in four countries, no date announced for the EU or the UK
With AgentsRoom
- A desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux plus an agent CLI, with a guided installer
- Works in a folder on your computer by default, while that computer is on
- Prepares the work: drafts, tables, plans and documents that you read and send yourself
- As many assistants as you want, from 17 business roles, on Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity CLI or another CLI
- Not limited to a list of countries: it works wherever your CLI provider does, Europe included
Filmed in the real app: one click on the Dev mode chip, I'm not a developer, and the projects, terminals and code tools give way to one room, My assistants, with a Lead assistant, a Writer, a Researcher and a Coach & Trainer. The Writer drafts a short, polite email to a client in the conversation: it prepares the text, you are the one who sends it. An Accountant joins from the business roles, and the same chip switches back to dev mode with every project as it was.
Meta Muse and AgentsRoom, line by line
| Criterion | Meta Muse | AgentsRoom |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | A dedicated cloud machine from Meta | Your computer by default |
| Setup | An account, nothing to install | A desktop app and an agent CLI, with a guided installer |
| AI models | Meta's models | The CLI you pick for each assistant: Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity CLI and others |
| Price | Free tier, then $20 or $100 a month | Free to download, every feature on the free plan, paid plans lift the caps. AI usage comes from your CLI's plan |
| Countries | United States, Canada, Japan, Singapore | Wherever your CLI provider is available, Europe included |
| Training on your requests | On by default, can be turned off | Set by the provider of your CLI, under its terms |
| Acting in your accounts | Yes, with your approval for sensitive actions | Drafts by default. A mailbox or calendar takes an MCP server you add |
| Computer switched off | Keeps working in the cloud | The computer must be on |
| Number of assistants | One personal agent | A room of as many as you want, each with its role and conversation |
| Your files | What you share with it and the services you connect | A folder on your computer that the assistants read and write |
| Phone | Full product on iOS and Android | Companion app, connected to your computer |
Which one fits you
Muse does real things AgentsRoom does not. Here is where each one wins.
Pick Meta Muse if
You want it done, not drafted
Muse books, fills in forms and buys from your connected accounts. AgentsRoom assistants prepare the work and you send it, unless you add an MCP server yourself.
You live on your phone
Muse is a complete product on the phone. The AgentsRoom mobile app is a companion that needs a computer on the other end.
You have no AI plan and no computer to leave on
The free tier of Muse needs nothing else. AgentsRoom assistants need an agent CLI, its account and a computer that stays on.
Pick AgentsRoom if
Muse is not available where you live
AgentsRoom is not tied to a list of countries. It works in Europe with any CLI provider available there.
You already pay for an AI plan
Your assistants run on the Claude or ChatGPT plan you already have, or on another agent CLI. AgentsRoom charges nothing for AI usage.
You want several specialists
A Writer, a Researcher and an Accountant, each with its own conversation, and a Lead assistant that hands the work out.
Your work lives in files
The assistants read and write in a folder on your computer, so a report or a proposal lands there as a real document.
You may build something one day
One click on the chip at the bottom right switches to dev mode, in the same app, to build a website or an app.
Where your requests and files go
With Muse, your connected accounts and the agent's data sit on Muse Secure VM, in Meta's cloud. Meta says other users' agents cannot reach that machine. Requests train Meta's models unless you turn that off.
With AgentsRoom, each assistant works in a folder on your computer by default. Running on your computer does not mean nothing leaves it: what you ask and what the assistant reads for the task go to the AI provider of the CLI you picked, under that provider's terms, including its training settings.
Two AgentsRoom exceptions to know. Adaptive Mode, on by default on new installs, sends the first 500 characters of a message to AgentsRoom servers to suggest a model: you can switch it off in Settings, in the Optimization tab. Cloud Agents, an optional beta feature chosen run by run, works on a disposable cloud machine.
FAQ
Is AgentsRoom a good alternative to Meta Muse?
For assistants that work on your files, on the AI plan you already have, yes. For an agent that books and buys from your phone with nothing installed, no: Muse does that, and AgentsRoom does not do it out of the box.
Is Meta Muse available in Europe?
Not as of 2 November 2026. Muse is available in the United States, Canada, Japan and Singapore, and we found no date from Meta for the EU or the UK. AgentsRoom can be used in Europe with any CLI provider available there.
Is AgentsRoom related to Muse Code?
Muse Code is Meta's coding CLI, and AgentsRoom can run it like the other agent CLIs. It is not the Muse agent: using it in AgentsRoom does not bring the Muse Secure VM or Muse's connected accounts.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Answer I'm not a developer at the first question and AgentsRoom opens a room of assistants, with no projects and no code tools. The one technical step is installing an agent CLI, and the app offers a guided installer.
How does the price compare with Muse?
Muse has a free tier and plans at $20 and $100 a month. AgentsRoom is free to download and every feature ships on its free plan; paid plans lift the caps on projects and agents. It includes no AI model, so AI usage comes from the plan of your CLI.
Can AgentsRoom send emails or book things like Muse?
Not on its own. The assistants prepare a draft, a comparison or a plan, and you act on it. Acting in a mailbox or calendar requires connecting the service through an MCP server, which you add yourself.
Does AgentsRoom train AI models on my requests?
AgentsRoom ships no AI model. Your requests go to the provider of the CLI you picked, and that provider's terms and settings decide whether they are used for training. Check them for your plan.
