# Review Mode

> A full-screen review of everything your agents changed before you commit it.

## What it does

A full-screen review of everything your agents changed before you commit it. The left list names every modified file with its status color (added, deleted, modified) and a **Files (3/8 reviewed)** progress; the center shows the diff side by side (**Original** / **Modified**) with syntax highlighting and word-level differences inside each line, or the full file. You walk through the files one by one, mark each as reviewed, leave comments on specific lines and send them back to the agent, and when every file is checked a **Review complete** screen lets you write or generate the commit message and commit.

## Where to find it

- Right panel > **Changes** tab > **Review** button (**Review all changes one by one**).
- The Review button can be hidden or restored from Settings > Interface elements > Right panel.

## How to use it

1. Open the **Changes** tab and click **Review**.
2. Move between files with the left/right arrows or j/k, or click a file in the list. Toggle **Diff** / **File** to see the change or the whole file.
3. Mark a file reviewed once you are satisfied; the progress bar updates.
4. Disagree with a line? **Comment on this line**, type what the agent should change, **Add**. When you are done, **Send comments (N)**: they are queued as one message to the agent that owns the changes.
5. When every file is reviewed, **Review complete** appears: write a message or click **Generate commit message with AI**, then **Commit**. The modal closes on success.

The review can be filtered to one agent's files; see [Per-Agent Review](https://agentsroom.dev/docs/per-agent-review.md).

## Settings

- `uiElements.rightPanel.review` (global, Settings > Interface elements): show or hide the Review button.
- The AI commit message follows the settings of [AI Commit Messages](https://agentsroom.dev/docs/ai-commit-messages.md).

## Agent tools (MCP)

None. Comments sent from the review reach the agent as a normal message.

## Providers

All providers for the diff and the commit. Sending line comments requires a live agent to send them to (**No agent to send these comments to** otherwise). Per-agent filtering is not available for every provider; see [Per-Agent Review](https://agentsroom.dev/docs/per-agent-review.md).

## Mobile

The phone has a **Review changes** entry on the project screen to read the diff of pending changes; marking files, line comments and the commit flow are desktop only.

## Limits

- The commit screen appears only when every file in the current list is marked reviewed.
- Very large diffs disable syntax highlighting and inline word-diff to keep scrolling smooth; very large files are truncated in the file view.
- The review works on the git working tree: the project must be a git repository.

## Common questions

- **Do I have to review every file before committing?** Yes, inside Review Mode. The Changes tab's own commit box commits without that gate.
- **Can I ask the agent to fix something I spot?** Yes: comment the lines, then Send comments; the agent receives them as review feedback.
- **What do the colors mean?** Green added, red deleted, orange modified.
- **Can I see the whole file, not just the diff?** Yes, the File toggle at the top.
