# Team Presence (who is working on what)

> Inside a team (Team plan or peers group), members working on the same project see which teammates have agents running on it right now: the agent's name, the backlog ticket it works on, the git branch, and whether it is working, waiting or idle.

## What it does

Inside a team (Team plan or peers group), members working on the same project
see which teammates have agents running on it right now: the agent's name, the
backlog ticket it works on, the git branch, and whether it is working, waiting
or idle. When you launch an agent on a ticket, a branch or files a teammate is
already working on, a gentle banner tells you so. It never blocks the launch.
Nothing is ever shared outside the team, and never a prompt, an answer or a
file's content.

## Where to find it

- **Agent list of a project**: up to three teammate avatars at the top of the
list, then "+N". Hover an avatar for the detail (agents, ticket, branch,
number of modified files). Nothing is shown when nobody else works on the
  project.
- **Backlog card**: the avatar of a teammate whose agent works on that ticket.
- **Collision banner**: over the composer of an agent you just launched, with
"Message <name>" (opens a private chat) and "Continue anyway".

## How to use it

1. Be a member of a live team (Settings > Account > Team).
2. Open a project that a teammate also has in AgentsRoom (same repository).
3. Launch agents as usual: your teammates see them within a few seconds, and you
   see theirs.

"Continue anyway" sends your teammate a phone notification that you launched an
agent on the same work. That is the only notification presence ever sends:
seeing each other's activity never notifies anybody.

## Settings

- `teamPresenceShare` (global, Settings > Account > Team > "Share my activity
with my team"): publish your running agents, ticket and branch to your team.
Default on. Off = nothing is published; you still see your teammates.
Synced with your account on every machine.
- `teamPresenceShareFiles` (global, same card, "Also share the files I
modify"): also publish the paths (relative to the repository) of the files
modified in your checkout, used to warn a teammate touching the same files.
Default on, only applies while sharing is on.
- Both have a project override (Project settings > Members > "Team
activity"): follow the account setting, On, or Off.

## Agent tools (MCP)

`settings_get` / `settings_set` read and change `teamPresenceShare` and
`teamPresenceShareFiles` at the global and project scopes.

## Providers

All providers, no difference: presence reads the agent state AgentsRoom already
tracks for every CLI.

## Mobile

The project screen shows the same teammate avatars, read-only. Tap them to see
the detail. The collision banner and the settings are on the desktop, where
agents are launched.

## Limits

- Team plan or peers group only, and only between members of the same team who
  have the same project.
- A ticket matches a teammate's only on a team backlog board or when both
imported the same issue (GitHub, Jira, Linear...): each private board has its
  own tickets.
- Two people on the repository's default branch (main) is not a collision by
itself; shared modified files still are.
- Presence updates every 45 seconds and on every change of state; a machine that
goes offline disappears after about 2 minutes 30.

## Common questions

- **Can my team see my prompts or code?** No. Only the agent's name, the ticket
title, the branch, the state and (if enabled) file paths.
- **How do I hide my activity?** Settings > Account > Team, uncheck "Share my
activity with my team", or turn it off for one project in Project settings >
  Members.
- **If I stop sharing, do I stop seeing my teammates?** No, you still see them.
- **Why don't I see a teammate who has agents running?** They are not in the
same team, do not have the project, or turned sharing off.
