## What it does

A short chat message that announces a change to the people who actually use the feature that changed (or, for some campaigns, to those who never tried it), written in the language they use in their Support thread, with a button that opens that feature in the app. It arrives in the **Support** thread as an automated message from the AgentsRoom Assistant, with a push notification and never an email. If your app is older than the version that carries the change, the open button is disabled and an **Update** button appears above it, so the message stays correct even if you read it weeks later.

## Where to find it

**Community** in the top bar (called **Chat** before 1.184.0), then the **Support** thread ("AgentsRoom Team"). Each news is one message with an optional screenshot or short video and a card with the action button.

## How to use it

1. Read the message. Click **Open <feature>** to jump to the feature it describes.
2. If the button reads **Needs version X** ("You are running Y, so opening it now would show you the previous version"), click **Update**. The app downloads the update and offers **Restart to update**; it never restarts on its own, and the hint says what closes (terminals, dev servers, SSH tabs).
3. Reply in the thread if you have a question: the assistant answers, and the team reads the thread.

## Settings

- Settings > Account > **Newsletter**: turning it off also excludes you from product news.
- Settings > Privacy & data > data sharing: campaigns target users by measured feature usage, and only shared usage can be seen. With sharing off you may not be targeted.

## Agent tools (MCP)

None.

## Providers

All providers, no difference.

## Mobile

The message arrives in the phone's Support thread too, but the Open feature button is desktop only: the phone cannot open a desktop feature, so its cards only carry actions that make sense there (rate the app).

## Limits

- Only signed-in accounts receive product news; anonymous desktop users cannot be reached.
- At most one news per release, and most releases have none: a news is a visible change of behaviour, not a fix.
- Push notification only, no email.
- Opening a feature from the message needs the desktop build that knows how to open it; an older build shows the update path instead.

## Common questions

- **Why did I get this message and not my colleague?** It went to accounts that use (or, for some campaigns, never used) the feature concerned, on the plan targeted.
- **The button is greyed out.** Your app predates the change. Update, then reopen the thread.
- **Is this the newsletter?** No. The newsletter is an email to a list; product news is one in-app message about one feature, in your language.
- **How do I stop them?** Turn off Newsletter in Settings > Account.
