## What it does

With AgentsRoom and Chrome running on several computers of the same account, every Chrome profile that has the
extension is visible to every desktop. When an agent calls a `chrome_*` tool without choosing a browser, AgentsRoom
picks one for it: the profile you ticked **Default** on this computer, else the only Chrome running on this computer,
else the only Chrome online. Only when that is still ambiguous does the agent ask which one to use.

## Where to find it

Status bar > **Chrome** chip > popover > **Your Chrome profiles**. Each row shows the profile name, **This computer**
when that Chrome runs on the same computer as this desktop (the OS name otherwise), and a **Default** checkbox.

## How to use it

1. Open the Chrome popover on the computer your agents run on.
2. Tick **Default** on the profile they should drive. One profile at most: ticking another one moves the default,
clicking the ticked one clears it.
3. Agents started or not, the next `chrome_*` call of an agent that has not chosen a Chrome uses it. An agent that
already chose one with `chrome_select_browser` keeps its choice.

Naming: a profile the user never renamed is called after its computer ("Chrome · Mac Mini") as soon as the desktop of
that computer sees it; before that it reads "Chrome · macOS". A name typed in the extension popup always wins.

## Settings

- **Default** checkbox (status-bar Chrome popover > **Your Chrome profiles**): machine-local, stored in
`~/.agentsroom/chrome-default.json`. Each computer keeps its own default, it does not follow the account. Off (none
  ticked) by default.

## Agent tools (MCP)

- `chrome_list_browsers`: each browser is tagged `on this computer` and `this computer's default` when they apply.
- `chrome_select_browser` with `makeDefault: true`: drive that Chrome AND tick it as this computer's default (only
when the user asks for it).

## Providers

All providers, no difference: the choice is made by the desktop, not by the agent CLI.

## Mobile

Not on the mobile companion: the phone lists no Chrome profile.

## Limits

- "This computer" needs the extension to reach the desktop on the local loopback (the same link as "Send page to
agent"). Without it the profile still works, it is just not recognised as local, and the default checkbox still
  applies.
- One Chrome profile = one browser: to expose two accounts, run two profiles with the extension signed in to the same
  AgentsRoom account in both.
- A default that is offline is skipped: the next rule applies.

## Common questions

- **I have several computers with AgentsRoom and Chrome: which Chrome do my agents drive?** The one ticked **Default**
on the computer the agent runs on. With none ticked, the Chrome of that same computer, when it is the only one there.
- **Two Chrome profiles on the same computer, which one is used?** Tick **Default** on one of them, otherwise the
  agent lists them and asks.
- **Can two agents drive two different accounts at once?** Yes: two Chrome profiles, each with the extension, each
named; each agent selects its own with `chrome_select_browser`.
- **Why is my Chrome called "Chrome · macOS"?** The desktop of that computer has not seen it yet, or the extension
cannot reach it locally. Rename it in the extension popup, Browser tab, **Browser name**.
