## What it does

One AgentsRoom account serves the desktop app, the mobile companion, the site and the Chrome extension, and there are three ways into it: an email and a password, **Continue with Google**, or **Continue with Apple**. Whichever door you use, you land in the same account: an Apple or Google sign-in that carries the email of an existing account signs into that account, and a brand-new identity creates a Free account on the spot. Signing in on the desktop syncs your subscription, saves prompts to the cloud, pairs the phone and unlocks the paid features; the desktop still works anonymously, with prompts and agents kept on that machine until you connect. Apple sign-in arrived on iPhone and iPad on 2026-09-18 and on the site and the desktop on 2026-09-20.

## Where to find it

- Desktop: the **Sign in / Create account** button at the bottom of the sidebar, the **Sign in** link of the banner "Sign in to save your data and access it from any device.", or Settings > **Account** > the card **Sign in to AgentsRoom** with its **Sign in / Create account** button. The dialog is titled **Sign in**, **Create account** or **Reset password**.
- Site: the **Sign in** and **Create your account** pages (`/login`, `/signup`), and the sign-in overlay of a public feedback portal.
- Phone: the **Sign in** screen at first launch, **Create account**, and the **Connect to Desktop** screen when you are signed out ("Sign in with the same account as on your computer, and your computer shows up here.").
- Chrome extension: its own sign-in form, email and password or Google only.

## How to use it

1. Open the sign-in dialog or page. The provider buttons come first, **Continue with Apple** above **Continue with Google**, then **or** and the email and password fields.
2. With a provider: the desktop opens your browser on Apple or Google, you approve, and the browser hands you back to the app; the site keeps you on the page; the phone shows Apple's or Google's own sheet. The first time, Apple asks whether to share your real email or to hide it behind a private relay address.
3. With email: on **Create account** enter a **Name**, an optional **Pseudonym (optional, shown publicly)**, an **Email** and a **Password** of at least 6 characters, then **Create account**. On the site the form also asks to confirm the password.

Forgotten password: **Forgot password?** then **Send reset link**. The answer is the same whether the address exists or not ("If an account exists with this email, you'll receive a reset link.") and the link expires after 1 hour. Open the link from the email, set a new password twice, and you are sent back to the sign-in page.

Signing out: Settings > **Account** > **Sign out** on the desktop; the account card of the phone's Settings tab.

Deleting the account: Settings > **Account** > **Delete account** > **Schedule deletion**. You are signed out at once, the account is removed after 30 days, and signing back in within those 30 days cancels the deletion (an active subscription must be cancelled first, and the phone offers the same gesture).

## Settings

None. The account itself is not a setting; the session token is kept by the app and never exposed to agents.

## Agent tools (MCP)

None. The AgentsRoom tools of an agent use the desktop's session; when that session is expired they answer that you must sign in again (see [AgentsRoom MCP](https://agentsroom.dev/docs/agentsroom-mcp.md)).

## Providers

All providers, no difference. Signing in to AgentsRoom is unrelated to signing in to Claude Code, Codex or any other CLI, which each keep their own login (see [Multiple Accounts](https://agentsroom.dev/docs/multi-account.md)).

## Mobile

Present. Email and password on every phone; **Continue with Apple** on iPhone and iPad only (Android offers email and Google). Both social buttons share one geometry: the Apple one is drawn by the app with Apple's logo, wording and colours, and the authorization sheet is Apple's own. One flow covers both the sign-in and the create-account screens.

## Limits

- Apple sign-in is not offered in the Chrome extension.
- The desktop always shows the Apple button; on a build of the site where Apple sign-in is not configured, clicking it opens an error page in the browser and nothing else happens.
- One provider attempt at a time on the desktop: clicking the other provider button replaces the attempt in progress.
- Apple sends your name only on the very first authorization. If it is lost, the account is created with a generic name that you can change afterwards.
- An account created with Apple's **Hide My Email** has a relay address. That address is never used to link to an existing account, so signing in with Apple on a relay address creates a separate account from the one you may already have with your real email.
- No welcome email is sent to an account created through Apple: a relay address only forwards mail from senders registered with Apple. The welcome message appears in the in-app chat instead.
- An account created with a provider has no password; use **Forgot password?** to set one if you want to sign in by email later.

## Common questions

- **I signed in with Apple and ended up in an empty account. Why?** You chose **Hide My Email**, so Apple gave AgentsRoom a relay address that matches no existing account. Sign out, sign in again with your email and password (or with Google if that is how the account was created), and revoke AgentsRoom in your Apple ID settings if you want to redo the Apple sign-in with your real email shared.
- **Can I use the same account on the desktop and the phone?** Yes, that is the point: "One account for your phone and your computer." Sign in with the same account on both and the computer shows up on the phone's **Connect to Desktop** screen.
- **Do I need an account to use AgentsRoom?** No. The desktop works without one; an account adds cloud sync of prompts, mobile pairing, the community and the paid plans.
- **I revoked AgentsRoom in my Apple ID settings. Is my account gone?** No. The next Apple sign-in goes through a first-time authorization again and finds the same account.
- **Google sign-in failed.** The dialog says "Google sign-in failed." (or "Apple sign-in failed."). Close the browser tab, click the button again; if the browser never opened, sign in with email and password.
